DO you remember Amanda Clayton, the then, 24 year old woman that won a million dollars on a lottery game show but failed to report her earnings and continued to collect public assistance until being charged with defrauding the government, placed on probation and repaying $5500 back to the state of Michigan?
Well, she was found dead this morning at age 25. For now, her cause of death is suspected to be the result of an accidental overdose.
One of her friends stated that the young lottery winner had become so overwhelmed with people pretending to be her friends to get money etc. He says that she made the comment that she no longer wanted the money. She began to purchase things for her family, set up college funds for her children and died with 65 thousand dollars of the nearly 800 thousand dollar cash prize that she was rewarded as a lump payment after taxes. I often hear people talk about the “curse” of the lottery but I’d like to have the “blessing” of one. Continue below to watch video from News One.
